BATANGAS Sign on Taal Volcano | Ale eh, Hollywood?

BATANGAS Sign on Taal Volcano | Ale eh, Hallywood?

According a from Inquirer, this is how Taal Volcano would look from Tagaytay ridge once the proposed giant BATANGAS sign is done. The idea is of course from no less than the Gov. Vilma Santos.

According to Vice Governor Mark Leviste, it will attract tourist and would help establish the identity of the lake and volcano as part of Batangas.

I think Taal Volcano is better off without that giant sign. And is Batangas that insecure? I think it's a bad idea, if not stupid.

A Nice, Short but Sweet Visit at Bahay Marikit Resort and Hotel in San Juan, Batangas

I (and my officemates) had a nice and sweet stay at Bahay Marikit Resort and Hotel in Brgy. Maraykit, San Juan, Batangas recently. An officemate who hails from nearby Brgy. Calit calit got married and Bahay Marikit provided a convenient accommodation for those of us who attended her wedding.

First, their friendly staff allowed me to reserve a family room without requiring me to deposit 50% down payment.

Bahay Marikit's Zen family room given to us is a spacious room with Japanese inspired interiors, with 2 double beds on the ground level plus two day beds each with pull-out beds on the second level. Enough to accommodate us 4 girls (on the double beds) and 3 guys on the second level. The room has aircon, cable tv and three passenger toilet and bath with hot and cold shower.

Room rate was 3800, good for 6 persons inclusive of complimentary breakfast (tocilog/longsilog + unlimited Kapeng Barako) and the use of the swimming pool. There is a charge of 250.00 per pax for additional persons in excess of 6. We paid 4, 050 for an overnight stay.

We checked in at 2 pm on a Saturday, rested for a while and went swimming. Around 7 pm, we proceeded to our officemate's house for dinner and some pre-nuptial tradition. Bahay Marikit closes at 9 pm but accomodated us when we returned around 11 pm.

The resort also have KTV and billiard room that we didn't get to try.

The morning after we made the most of our remaining time swimming despite a drizzle and then checked out to attend the wedding ceremonies at San Roque Nepumuceno Church.

All in all, I'd say that Bahay Marikit is a nice clean resort to stay in Batangas and we thank the staff for accommodating all of us.

What's wrong with Coconut Hills Beach Resort?

So how's your summer vacation so far? Which Batangas Beach Resorts did you visit this year? How was it?

Recent guests of Coconut Hills Beach Resort are complaining about the service they got from the resort. They say the place is really great, but the service really sucks. Read Coconut Hills Beach Resort reviews.

Similar complaints were posted on this blog last year. One of the resort guests even suggested ways to improve the resort. I haven't been to the place but apparently, something is really wrong.

For the resort owner, I think you should take these feedbacks seriously. Look at it as a constructive criticism.

But in fairness to the resort owner, most of the negative comments are from anonymous visitors. So here's an honest to goodness review from a blogger who personally experienced summer getaway at Coconut Hills Beach Resort: A Fun Summer Getaway @ the South.

For those who have just visited any of the Batangas Beaches and Resorts, please feel free to leave your comments. Let your feedbacks be the guide for others who are planning to visit a resort in Batangas.

Taal Volcano Alert Level 2 | Is it safe to visit Talisay Resorts?

Taal Volcano
Taal Volcano view from Mt. Makulot

Taal Volcano's possible eruption has been in the news for weeks now and if you're going to listen to Kuya Kim Atienza, you'll think it will erupt yesterday. Now, the question is this: Is it still safe to visit Resorts in Talisay, Batangas?

Alert Level 2 was raised for Taal Volcano which means a voluntary evacuation is in place. There were already 77 persons evacuated from Taal Volcano Island. Once the Alert Level 3 is raised, then that's another story. It means a probable eruption and a forced evacuation will be implemented.

There are quite a number of resorts in Talisay, Batangas and one of most popular is the Club Balai Isabel. I saw in the news yesterday night that because of the report about Taal Volcano possible eruption, there's a huge decline in number of visitors to Club Balai Isabel.

I heard the resort manager appealing for help to promote tourism in Talisay, Batangas. That it is safe to visit Club Balai Isabel. Which is actually true. With Alert Level 2, there is no immininent danger if you are planning to visit Club Balai Isabel and nearby Talisay Batangas Resorts. But check out the official Club Balai Isabel website (http://www.balaiisabel.com/) and there's not even a news, campaign or a note to tell visitors that it is safe to visit their resort!

Good luck naman sa inyo, Club Balai Isabel!
